Populuxe Brewing

Rafn was selected to construct the new home of Populuxe Brewing in Ballard, just across the parking lot from their original space.

Populuxe, a combination of popular and deluxe, is an award winning independent craft brewery that features up to nine unique beers at any time.

The new 4,000-square-foot facility in a converted auto mechanic space includes a seven-barrel brewhouse with 15-barrel fermenters, and a taproom with 20 draft lines.

Work included new plumbing for the brewery, bar, and restrooms; new Glycol piping system; new walk in cooler; new roof top HVAC unit; modification of the existing power to support the equipment; and new lighting.

Populuxe hosts family happy hours, live music, local artists and the best food trucks in town and is home to Ballard’s largest beer garden (well behaved kids and dogs welcome). They were awarded the 2018 Small Brewery of the Year at the Washington Beer Awards.
